Questa scultura si ispira alla mitologia greca: HIMEROS è il nome del dio greco del desiderio erotico. Alcune versioni del mito narrano che Afrodite fosse incinta di due gemelli: Eros e Himeros, con quest'ultimo che è la personificazione del desiderio d'amore selvaggio e della lussuria sessuale. La scultura rappresenta il corpo intervallato da fasce e spruzzi d'acqua; i Greci avevano già riconosciuto la stretta connessione tra acqua, amore e piacere, attribuendo la nascita di Afrodite alla spuma del mare.

This sculpture is inspired by Greek mythology: HIMEROS is the name of the Greek God of erotic desire. Some versions of the myth narrate that Aphrodite was pregnant with two twins: Eros and Himeros, with the latter being the personification of wild love desire and sexual lust. The sculpture represents the body nterspersed with bands and spurts of water; the Greeks had already recognized the close connection tween water, love, and pleasure, attributing the birth of Aphrodite to the foam of the sea.
